begins: from now until July, endangered turtles return to ancestral
beaches to lay their eggs in the sand

- Goat and crab racing at
Buccoo on Easter Tuesday (and at Mount Pleasant the day before). The
jockeys guide their groomed and beribboned charges with rope and
stick. The crab racing can take quite a while . . .
