The minarets of the 15th-century mausoleum of Mongolian conqueror Temerlane's daughter-in-law are under reconstruction by a U.N.-funded project in Herat, Afghanistan, February 11, 2001. Herat is no longer on the front lines of the war, and workers are planting gardens and patching the holes to restore some of the past glory, which was blasted by Soviet artillery in the 1980s during their occupation of the country.  REUTERS
